Summit Security Services Celebrates Its 42nd Anniversary
UNIONDALE, NY (August 23, 2018) — Summit Security Services, Inc., a leading security services provider, marks the 42th anniversary of its founding today. Over the past four decades, Summit has transformed itself from a local New York City-based firm to one of the largest security services firms in the U.S.
Summit was founded on August 23, 1976, by the late Richard N. Auletta, a highly decorated New York City Police Department Detective. Under his visionary leadership, the company grew, opening offices throughout the New York City metropolitan area. In 1989, Richard was joined by his sons, Robert L. Auletta and Nicholas M. Auletta, who succeeded their father as Co-Presidents of the company in 2002. Continuing their father’s commitment to organic growth and client satisfaction, and drawing on their own backgrounds in law enforcement and business, they forged durable partnerships between Summit and its growing list of high-profile clients.
Today, Summit is one of the nation’s largest security services providers. Every day, more than 4,500 Summit security officers protect a diverse portfolio of Fortune 500 companies, top universities, major airlines, critical infrastructure and public agencies across New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. Building on its track record of success, Summit has, this year, launched a major expansion into Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, extending its reach to the nation’s capital.
“Summit’s success is directly attributable to all of the dedicated, highly talented security professionals who work here” says Co-President Robert Auletta. “And to the outstanding service they deliver to our clients every day.”
Summit’s financial stability, exemplary performance, and transparent pricing has been recognized by federal and state agencies. The federal General Services Administration (GSA) named Summit a GSA Approved Security Provider; the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) awarded Summit a contract as preferred security provider to state and local agencies across 16 New York counties; and Connecticut’s Department of Administrative Services (DAS) awarded Summit a contract serving 42 state agency locations and nine community colleges. The media has taken notice, too. Forbes has named Summit one of America’s Best Mid-Sized Employers for the last three consecutive years.
